Living History

HISTORY ALIVE!

Fort Ligonier comes to life daily (June 1 – mid-October) with costumed historical interpreters leading a variety of educational and entertaining programs with interactive activities for all ages.

History Alive! portrays the ordinary men and women who fought and lived at Fort Ligonier during the Forbes Campaign of 1758. Engage with our interpreters and learn about the responsibilities of British soldiers at a frontier military outpost while defending the Fort from the French and their Native American allies. Discover how women earned a living following the British army by doing laundry, nursing, and other necessary tasks to keep the soldiers clean and healthy.

“History Alive!” is made possible by Americana Corner’s Preserving America Partners program.
