History Alive! Featuring Stone House History’s Colonial Artisans
10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Come to Fort Ligonier this weekend and see an 18th Century Tape Weaver and Spoon Maker demonstrate their crafts and sell their wares!
Founded in 2017 by history enthusiasts Jay and Leigh Ann Ouellette, Stone House History highlights the skills and crafts of the past. Jay is an 18th Century Green Woodworker who hopes to inspire other woodworkers to rethink traditional woodworking to keep the craft alive. Leigh Ann is an 18th Century Tape Maker (weaver) who enjoys introducing visitors to Early American textiles.
History Alive! at Fort Ligonier is an engaging experience for visitors to learn more about the daily life of a frontier military outpost in North America during the 18th century. Through daily programming depicting typical activities of a military site such as soldiering, manual labor, tailoring, laundry, and cooking, and special weekend demonstrations from 18th century artisans, History Alive! portrays the people who fought and lived at Fort Ligonier during the Forbes Campaign of 1758.
“History Alive!” is made possible by Americana Corner’s Preserving America Partners program.
History Alive! is included with Fort Ligonier’s regular admission fees.
