History Alive! Featuring Hot Dip Tin
10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Master tinsmith Shay Lelegren of Hot Dip Tin will be onsite demonstrating and reproducing historical replicas of tinware items using original colonial tools and methods.
For twenty years Shay researched, developed, and reproduced tinware based on archaeological discoveries and surviving originals from 17th century dark lanterns to WWII biscuit tins. Some of his most sought-after products reflect Fort Ligonier’s time period including drinking cups, canteens, and snuff boxes.
Stop at the South Storehouse in the Upper Fort and see the tin cups Shay made for the building’s new interpretation.
History Alive! is generously funded by Americana Corner Preserving America Partners Program.
History Alive! programs are included with regular admission fees and are always free to Fort Ligonier Association members.
