“According to the best of his Recollection”: The Mystery of George Washington’s Friendly Fire Incident | Wine and Cheese Reception and Talk

Please join us for the annual commemoration of George Washington's dramatic November 12, 1758, Friendly Fire Incident. Learn more about the last time Washington was under fire before the American Revolution!

Hear a riveting talk by Fort Ligonier’s Director of Education, Matt Gault about the different accounts that we know exist of the Incident including by Washington himself as written in his “Remarks”, an 11-page diary about his time spent at Fort Ligonier and on the western Pennsylvania frontier.
