Model Fort Building Competition Pre-Registration
Put your creativity and knowledge of history to the test by participating in our model fort building competition!
The art of historic preservation & restoration requires extensive research and knowledge of the past. Working independently or in groups of up to four, students from ages 10-17 are encouraged to put their knowledge of forts from the 1700s to the test by creating their own unique model 18th Century forts. Three winners will be selected with cash prizes!
Sponsored by the Brad Mooney Fund, the first place fort will receive $200, second place will receive $100, and third place will receive $50.
Entry to compete is free!
The competition will conclude on March 11 from 1-4 PM at Fort Ligonier’s education center. Each model fort will be judged by a team of three judges while they are put on display for guests to observe. Winners will be announced to conclude the event. This event will also include a special interview with our director of Historic Preservation and Restoration, Eric Lebo! Participants in the competition will be granted free admission for the event on March 11. Registration to attend as a nonparticipant will be posted following the competition registration deadline on February 10.
