Children in elementary through middle school are invited to explore all the Fort has to offer through a wide range of programs guaranteed to excite. Experience hands-on activities like quill pen writing, making kettles from tin, marching like soldiers, dipping candles and making Native American necklaces. Whether the program lasts for an hour, or a summer, Fort Ligonier inspires a sense of wonder through history.
Fort Ligonier’s Kids Camp offers a weeklong summer day camp experience for children who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade. Campers learn about the Fort and the French and Indian War as they participate in hands-on activities that help them experience life before electronics. They’ll play 18th-century games, learn about military life and play “cannonball” and “capture the flag” and wrap-up the week acting in a mini re-enactment.
