Raise the Flag on Fun

Children in elementary through middle school are invited to explore all the Fort has to offer through a wide range of programs guaranteed to excite. Experience hands-on activities like quill pen writing, making kettles from tin, marching like soldiers, dipping candles and making Native American necklaces. Whether the program lasts for an hour, or a summer, Fort Ligonier inspires a sense of wonder through history.

Fort Ligonier Days Costume Contest

6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Contestants research the type of clothing that men and women wore during the time of Fort Ligonier (1758-1766) and participate in creating their costume.  Contest is open to all students in grades K to 8. Cash prizes awarded:
1st Place- $300
2nd Place- $200
3rd Place- $100
All participants are invited to march in the Fort Ligonier Days parade.

Summer Camp

Fort Ligonier’s fun, interactive day camp is legendary! Created for kids who have completed grades K-6.

Your young soldier will experience 18th century frontier life while exploring the fort, playing games, creating crafts, making new friends and more! Camp ends with a special mini-reenactment and family picnic.

Camp 1: June 11 – 15, 2018 (Monday – Friday)
Camp II: July 16 – 20, 2018 (Monday – Friday)
9:00 am – 2:30 pm

Fort Association Members: $120.00 per camper
Non-Members: $135.00 per camper
$20.00 Sibling Discount/Scholarships available

Cannonball Club

Kids (ages 5-14) have a BLAST at Cannonball Club playing 18th century games, going on scavenger hunts and museum quests, and playing “Cannon Ball!” Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. through noon. FREE thanks to the Ligonier Valley Education Trust and PA Historic & Museum Commission.

Kids can attend one club meeting or all six! Registration is appreciated, but walk-in’s welcome!

Colonial Christmas Cannonball Club

Our popular summer Cannonball Club returns for a one-time special Christmas club meeting!  Kids will explore the museum, play games, and create a colonial craft project.

Registration is appreciated, but walk-in’s welcome.
